All lions at Lion Phuket Cafe are African lions, bred and born in Thailand under professional care.
They are not taken from the wild and have lived under human care since birth, coming from licensed breeding farms, not from natural forests or wild habitats.
Each lion is cared for under strict standards, with veterinary professionals closely monitoring their health, nutrition, and overall well-being.
he health and well-being of our lions are our highest priority. All information shared with visitors reflects the natural biology and behavior of African lions.
Lions reach reproductive maturity between 2.5 and 4 years of age, with females typically maturing from 2.5–4 years and males from 3–4 years. These age ranges are a normal part of their natural life cycle and development.
Lions also naturally sleep or rest for approximately 16–20 hours per day, which is about 70% of a 24-hour period. This behavior is completely normal, healthy, and essential for their growth, energy conservation, and overall well-being. During rest periods, lions may appear calm or sleepy, this is natural and never forced.
We do not sedate, drug, or mistreat our lions in any way. All care and interactions are gentle, closely monitored, and designed to respect each lion’s natural routines and biological needs.
